Dirty Ol’ One Man Band

Jesus Loves Scott H. Biram

From his website:

“Scott H. Biram won’t die. On May 11th, 2003, one month after being hit head-on by an 18-wheeler at 75 MPH, he took the stage at The Continental Club in Austin, TX in a wheel chair – I.V. still dangling from his arm. With 2 broken legs, a broken foot, a broken arm and 1 foot less of his lower intestine, Biram unleashed his trademark musical wrath.”

Apparently Jesus really does love Scott H. Biram.  But who wouldn’t?  Take blues, punk, country, and even a little metal, mix into one man with a guitar and an amplified foot, and bake for thirty minutes in brimstone.  Serves four.

There’s nothing pretty about this.  His vocals are almost as distorted as his guitar, and his lyrics take the darkest sides of metal and bluegrass and mix them together.  He keeps time on an amplified box that he stomps on with his foot while he howls about truckers, suckers, and… plowing?

Yep.

Chances are you’re not going to hear some douchebag playing a Biram song on the college quad to try and get laid.  Unless he’s on meth.

Check out his cover of the blues classic “Dust My Broom”:

Here’s one that made me sit down and try to figure it out (which, if you read the last post, is rare for me):

Check him out here:
